Hi, I’m Alonna!  I am a licensed professional clinical counselor, and my pronoun choice is she/her/hers.

My clients want to feel whole within themselves and have healthy, loving relationships.  I help them find relief from their distress and transform suffering into strength.  I support them in owning their truth so that they can live life to their fullest potential, and empower them to love deeply and live courageously.  I know from helping hundreds of people over the years that it is possible for you to create the life you want.

I will use my skills, expertise, and experience to enable me to meet you where you are now and help you along your path.  My goal for our work together is for you to be able to take what you learn in counseling with me and feel positioned to continue growing, learning, loving – for the rest of your life.

Although only you are the true expert on your life, you do not have to go through it alone.  I am here to hold the space you need to grow. It’s really important for me that you feel safe and heard.  Consider our therapy space a judgment-free zone that honors who you are as an individual. I will not shame you for being you. In fact, as we work together, I invite you to be as much you as you can possibly be.  You are invited to joke around, to curse, and to cry in our sessions.  In my view, that’s the best way for us to get the job done.

A journey is a series of steps.  You have already bravely taken the first one by being here.  I invite you to take the next step by contacting me to set up a free brief consultation.  We will continue this conversation from there.  I am looking forward to getting to know you!

Meet Quigley

She/Her/Hers

Woof!   My name is Quigley! I am a fluffy little therapist.  I am a 7-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd and my pronoun choice is she/her/hers.

I was adopted by my mom when I was a year and a half old, and I had to work really hard to learn skills to manage my anxiety.  At first, I didn’t even like going out of the house, but now I just can’t wait to go to work with mom.  I get so excited when I know she’s going to take me!  I am smart and cute (as you can obviously see!), and most importantly I am a total glutton for pets. I take my job as a fur-therapist very seriously.   No one will greet you more enthusiastically when you come in for a session than I will.  Make sure you compliment me on my chic style choices, because I take great care to grace the world with my fashion-forward apparel.

I do my very best work with calm, mature energies and am best suited for adults who love dogs.  My favorite sessions are couples sessions because I can squeeze right in between two potential pet opportunities, and if I’m lucky I’ll get doted on simultaneously by both.

Ahhh - this is the life!

So. Stinkin’. Cute.

Meet Lydia

Sher/Her/Hers

Woof! My name is Lydia and I am a three-year-old therapy dog in training. My pronoun choice is she/her/hers. I’m a floppy-eared pit bull boxer mix with the cutest head tilt you ever did see.

I adopted my mom, Alonna, and my sister, Quigley, when I saw them on a walk in their neighborhood. My heart knew right away that I was meant to be a part of their family, so I decided to follow them home. My mom found out later that I had been living in the SPCA for 6 months fighting for my life. After I got better and was adopted out, I was abandoned again two weeks later. Don’t be sad for me, though – this was the best thing that happened to me. It led me to my caring family and my new job as a therapist helping other people heal like I have.

I have a very calm, sweet disposition and my favorite activity is cuddling...well, that might actually be my second favorite activity. I am a water baby through and through and nothing makes me happier than swimming in a lake somewhere. I’m still super excitable in the office because it’s a new experience for me. I am working really hard on learning not to jump on people and developing my therapy dog skills. So, you may not see me around consistently yet – but I’ll get there.

I am best suited to anyone of any age who loves dogs and would be comfortable helping with my training. I can’t wait to cuddle with you!
