Request Appointment

So, you’ve already accomplished the first phase of getting started by reading through this website and making the decision to proceed with setting up counseling.  Yay!  But what’s next?  Don’t worry, I am here to walk you through the steps to make getting started as easy as it can be.  In just five steps, we will get you set up and ready to go!

Set up an initial phone consultation. You may click the “Request Appointment” button below to find a time that works best for you, and I will reach out to you at your selected time. Alternatively, you are invited to complete the contact form at the bottom of this page. Please include days and time frames in which I can easily get back to you.

I will get in touch via phone and we will discuss what you are looking for through counseling. We will also discuss logistics of scheduling and billing. If it appears we would be a good fit for each other, we will get an initial appointment set up. If you would be better served by another therapist based on your needs, I will provide you with other great local referrals.

Please note that I do have a limited number of openings in my schedule, and if I am full at the time of your contact, I will offer to put you on my waiting list in addition to providing referrals.

In order to confirm your first appointment, you will need to complete the initial intake paperwork in the therapy portal. I will explain that further and get you set up in the portal following our phone consult.

At our first session, we will review the paperwork and discuss any questions you might have. I will also be taking a personal history from you in order for me to start to understand how I can best serve you as your therapist. Most importantly, though, we will use the first session as an opportunity to start getting to know one another and make sure that we are a good fit.

I often recommend starting with weekly sessions to get things going and then we can adjust our frequency as needed going forward. We'll continue working to get to know each other, discuss your goals for counseling, and move forward from there with helping you to achieve what you came to counseling to accomplish.
